January 19th, 2010 - 1530 Los Angeles Time
A few hours ago, in Sunset Beach / Seal Beach Orange County California, it was reported a likely waterspout came ashore and became a twister / tornado, tossing boats and overturning vehicles (multiple boats and at least one SUV of 6000 lbs – “at least Fujita Scale 2, F-2,” reported by weatherman Josh on KCAL 9 News Central @ 1548). Also reported were blown-out windows and uprooted trees. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries.
I wish I had some monitoring devices to see what was going on in the local atmosphere at the time. Maybe I’ll ask the NOAA folks for a likely explanation of how this phenomenon materialized.

I submitted the following question(s) to National Weather Service / NOAA at:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/
NOAA, National Weather Service,
I write to ask you for an explanation of the reported waterspout / twister /tornado that appeared to have come ashore this afternoon in Seal Beach / Sunset Beach, Orange County, California. Could you explain to me how this twister may have come to be formed? Otherwise, could you point me in the direction of where I may learn more of how this possible waterspout came ashore to become a ‘likely’ tornado in coastal Orange County, California? I am curious, was this phenomenon predictable by typical tornado prediction models? Please let me know, if you would be so kind. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Adam Trotter

Is Strange Weather Currently on its Way to the Heartland?
Dec. 31st, 2009
I’m not sure if such was just an off-shore ‘fluke,’ but the model by which I research and attempt to monitor to seek a pattern to forewarn of tornadic, severe, and strange weather phenomena for the as yet specifically-unknown areas of the American Midwestern states seemed to predict this evening that such unstable weather may, in fact, be on its way to the American heartland – of course we must be mindful of the time of year and what types of weather could manifest itself inland under any such conditions. For all that is really known of the subject, the aforementioned model may be foretelling of something totally unrelated to reasons for which the model is currently monitored. Nevertheless, time will tell if this possible interpretation of the weather model was correct for this specific occurrence or whether such was merely a ‘fluke,’ coincidence, or nothing at all, I suppose.
AVT
PS. Barometer 30.27 inches (a few hours later from Los Angeles), falling or rising don’t know, scattered light rain, 50 deg f approx., Night time.
Afterthought 1/3/10 : record cold temperatures passed into the heartland possibly on schedule that would likely coincide with any prediction of the model; say, one to two days later. Whether such was a fluke, I’m unsure. Unfortunately I don’t have data loggers to monitor the deltas/differences of any monitored variable. So at best, I am only taking snapshots. I was a little concerned with the prediction as discussed above in this blog because upon a ‘snap-shot’ being taken the next day, all had returned to normal – so to speak – as best I could tell.

National Jobs Task Force Team Meetings, or Whatever Such is Labeled
December 9th, 2009
While talks and meetings to get the private sector to create jobs and increase employment levels are surely commendable, at least superficially, does it not occur to those ‘task force’ type folks that to speak of the possibility of future tax credits for the hiring of individuals may likely cause the timid employers to wait to hire? That is to say, if a firm believed that at some future point in time it might get a tax credit as a result of hiring employees, wouldn’t it seem likely that many employers would wait to hire until after the potential tax credit was authorized or likely wait before hiring to see if such a tax credit were to be authorized?

Persistence of Vision..............
Sometime prior to November 29th, 2009.
The theory known as the Persistence of Vision states something to the extent that the eye naturally resets itself every few moments and that the brain fills in (from memory) the blind/blank times while the eye is momentarily resetting itself and is therefore unable to see.
Given such, how can you be sure if what you are seeing is reality or not??? In other words, how do you know whether your mind is telling you that you are seeing something that is or is not there in reality?

Do Unto Others and the Same Will Be Done Unto You By Others !!
October 16th, 2009
I think the Golden Rule is an over-arching rule of life. It seems that many in our society seem to forget these words / this rule when interacting with others. I think these words are / this rule is more than a proverb, however. I am convinced that the wording of the Golden Rule is a warning that has been passed down through the ages. As an example, when interacting with others in most of life’s settings, I am convinced that if one were to concern themselves with the well-being of the other party [or parties] interacting in any given matter, that the end product of the dealings will be much more rewarding to the non-self-centered party – more rewarding than can even be measured or anticipated in most cases. Bottom line: if nothing else, at least try to be nice and polite to everyone.

PS. I mean..., in the extreme and if I were God, I would go around as a homeless, down-trodden individual and see how I was treated for future reference.

Focus / Concentrate on the Positive, Positive Energy
October 14th, 2009
Focus on the positive things in life. Don't fall into the trap of focusing on negative energy - I know its easy to become negative and I dont mean to preach, as I am no saint, I'm sure. However, when focusing on negative energy one enters into a downward spiral that leads to more negative energy heading one's way. Negativity only begets more negativity - from both yourself and from others as well. To put it simply, try to focus on what is good in life and try not to unduly focus on any shortcomings of life. When something goes awry and causes any anger, acknowledge that negative energy and try to channel it into doing something productive - preferably use that energy to positively change the situation.

Tornadoes in Argentina and Brazil on or about September 8th , 2009
Sept. 22nd, 2009
I wonder what the seemingly paradigm-laden, mainstream tornado researchers have to say about the latest tornadoes in Argentina and Brazil? (Click to Fox News to see story: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,547900,00.html ) Because, those researchers seem to nearly always prefer to mandate the involvement of the Gulf of Mexico in the formation of any tornadoes. (Of course, that is for the tornadoes in North America). Nevertheless, the point I make is that such tornadoes as those that recently appeared in South America appear as no oddity or exception to my model concerning the formation of tornadoes. I wonder if the mainstream tornado researchers can make the same claim?
