Better then Worse?




May 12th, 2015/ Tuesday early A.M

While the signals still seemed to have been weak all day Sunday (5/10/15, Mother’s Day), they seemed to have returned to normal for most of Monday (5/11/15).  However, as of the early A.M. on Tuesday (the time of this blog entry), the signals again appear to be weakening yet again.  It’s sort of a riddle to me.  Because it seems the signals should still be strengthening - according to weather reports, maybe anyhow.  I don’t really know what is going on – as a high pressure system should be nearing overhead – albeit maybe a weak high according to the link below with such riding ahead of two approaching low pressure fronts, or so it was reported by the television weather folks on Monday. Then again, maybe this is all a non-sequitur/non-issue.  Of course, one of the fun things about speaking in generalities is that most may not be aware of what I speak anyhow.  :)

Nothing Changed

Last that I checked, as of a few hours ago, nothing seems to have changed since the last blog entry/post, oddly enough.  Am I merely 'reinventing the wheel'?

A Little Weak





May 4th, 2015

While a low pressure system seems to be approaching from the north and another low seems to be lingering inland, the signals seem a bit on the weak side.  I am not sure that either is abnormally weak at this point, however.  Both SD and SB can be heard in the preferred listening spot but both are barely heard at the less-preferred spot.  SB still seems to peek through in the second spot as does SD, but SD is definitely weaker than the norm.  It all could be a result of directional forces, nevertheless.  Ill try to check again soon.

Kind'a Ok Now.

While the signals were weak yesterday, with the arrival high pressure system the signals are still a bit weaker than the norm but seem to have more or less returned to normal.  SB seems normal but SD seems still a bit weaker than usual under the given conditions - directional forces could always be at work too.  I know..., I'm not really sure what it all means either.

Hearing Loss?

Signals are definitely weaker this evening/morning as well as all day yesterday for that matter too. However, SB sometimes manages to peek through at the less than optimal listening spot.  So, much of the absence of SD is likely a directional type of thing and a result of the low pressure system overhead, I would be inclined to suggest.  Of course, things seem to have been heating up of late, so I don’t really know for sure anymore, maybe either.

Where 'da Gulf of Mexico?

For decades or more it seems, tornado researchers have been telling us that the formation of tornadoes in the nation’s Heartland are mostly due to the weather systems created by, or associated with, the Gulf of Mexico.  Then I see/hear of tornadoes like this one today near Palm Springs, California and ask, ‘what could the Gulf of Mexico possibly have to do with this tornado, even with the counter-clockwise spinning low pressure system approaching on-shore?’  


Are we to associate this tornado with the Sea of Cortez, possibly in accordance with the well-funded and widely accepted tornado researchers’ typical logic – if we stretch that logic abit and give that logic the benefit of the doubt?  Or…, should we attribute this tornado to the Pacific Ocean – words I never heard uttered in the same sentence before I started this Tornado Tamer campaign with a PhD. application years ago?  Or…, is this tornado due to the some combination of the second low pressure system soon to be coming on-shore to the north?  Worth noting, the “KTLA 10 O’clock News” from Los Angeles this evening reported that there were lightning strikes today in the Palm Springs region, more or less – which is another possible contributing factor in my hypotheses concerning tornado formation, of which I have written elsewhere.  Is the lightning the real cause of this tornado – and I don’t mean in the typical sense of the phenomena being associated with electrical/thunder storms either?

PS. (Early A.M, 4/22)   The signals were weak from SD this evening with some SB being heard – albeit all possibly counter-directional depending on the location of the approaching low pressure system(s) and wind directions. (This is information which I do not have since I don’t have the equipment to provide this data in real time and I don’t want to allow a thousand java scripts of unknown origins to run on my computer just to find out this information either, even if I could.)  But I can see that the barometer is currently dropping as of this late-night writing.  So, maybe this post script is merely a moot point.   I will try to go get a better listen tomorrow evening to see what’s up, with any luck.
