Chaos Theory?

Early Saturday, AM

The ‘typical’ signals seemed significantly weakened early this morning.  Odd because I would have thought they would have been stronger, if what the weather-gal said on the Friday morning news was accurate.  Nevertheless, I will go and check from a better listening spot this evening, if I’m able.  Maybe the weather report was incorrect, the conditions changed, or I misheard the report as seems to be indicated by the weather-underground link below.    

More odd because, whether I blogged about it or not, the last few weekends that I was able to listen also had weakened/odd combinations of signals.  Then tornadic storms subsequently appeared in the heartland a couple-few days later.

Early this morning, the signals were about a weak as I have heard in a long time.  But then the singing of SB started to eek its way through to being heard – at least for a little while.  Weird, what with the reported high-pressure system arriving on shore from the Pacific Ocean - or maybe that is only what I had thought the weather person reported.  Again, I hope to go listen from a better spot Saturday night.  

Sometimes I don’t blog on the matter because I am unsure if I am merely reinventing the wheel, so to speak.  And lately I am not able to listen as much as I would like and I have no sophisticated or automated equipment to listen for me.  Regardless, sometimes I also wonder if I am merely studying/observing some atmospheric manifestation of chaos theory.

Cause for Alarm?

Last night at the preferred listening spot, SD was about as weak as I have heard in a long time.  But other signals were creeping into fill that void, to some odd extent.  So I don’t really know if it all is a matter of the passing storm(s) or a directional-type thing (as SB basically could be heard albeit weakened as well).  All I know is that SD was abnormally weak in its strongest location.  Historically, that usually meant that trouble was brewing.  Again, however, I am still unsure how to account for local storms in my model – and I don’t quite get as many opportunities to listen in general of late, as I have in the past. Nevertheless, I again will be able to listen to a lesser extent later today.

As I went out early this A.M., the signals from SD were weaker than ’normal’ but not quite as weak as I had feared at the lesser listening spot as discussed in my previous entry.  SB seemed to be coming through ok.

I Don’t Know, Low.

With the low pressure, so has been the singing of the Saints.  But even with the high that passed through the end of last week and this weekend, the signals had been weak then too.  I don’t know.

Listening a Little

I've been having the opportunity to listen a little bit of late.  The singing of the Saints has been weakened of late, for sure.  But as I have blogged before, it could be due to passing storms/rains.  But the weakened signals have been on-going for a few days at least (comes and goes, somewhat from time to time too).  Funny, almost every time I am able to listen when anything seems worth reporting/cataloging, things are never quite what I would have expected.   Some always seem heard in places which such would not be expected.  And then at other times, some rarely heard are being heard nevertheless.

December 26, 2015, Follow-on note:

NBC Nightly News reported this evening that two dozen tornadoes have been reported in the last three days across the interior southern part of the nation.  More severe weather is expected to follow across the south and move further to the east.  It is forecast to encompass much of the nation from New Mexico to Tennessee.  I could tell something seemed worth noting with this blog entry.
