Who to Trust?

Aug 9, 2015

As I am listening with borrowed ears, I am unsure what to make of the apparently weakened signals with the singing bouncing through as if moment by moment on the low end with the other across the middle at the less than optimal spot.  However, it has also come to my attention that I am no longer even sure whose maps I should be using regarding the passing of fronts and ridges (no slight of confidence/offense intended to the referenced, of course).

Doppler Radar Wrong Again?

August 7th, 2015

Yesterday on the One O'clock News, KTLA (TV 5) weather person Mark noted how Long Beach was seeing heavy rains at the time of the broadcast - according to Doppler Radar.  When I went outside and around to see, there was no sign of rain anywhere.

Maybe such magnetic anomaly as is sometimes evidenced by erroneous Doppler Radar is the same phenomena by which tornadoes often seem to steer clear of urban areas?  Maybe anyhow.

Signals are weakening again.  Likely a result of the approaching low pressure system.

Strife Everywhere

July 20th, 2015

Signals have been weak for a few days which I mostly attribute to the weird weather such as the hurricane remnants - moving up from the south, the high pressure system - that had moved back to the west from the heartland before moving on (if it really ever moved at all), and local rain and thunderstorms over these same days.  As I have said before, it seems that I don’t know the actual impact of passing storms anymore - maybe.  However, now I don’t know what’s currently going on much at all.  Signals are still weak but at times SD can be heard high and low and at other times only SB can be heard even in unusual spots and yet other times SD can be heard at the same time as SB and, of course, at other times neither could be heard.  I guess I’ll have to see what becomes of it all, if anything.

And another crazy thing happened 7/21/2015, the weather person on the afternoon news had a low pressure symbol on her weather map where the high pressure system had been sitting- centered over Texas (which had been moving in westerly direction but has now moved on to the east).  But as it turns out I maybe was then at the time looking at a forecast map and was not aware that it was not a current map)! I thought I had slept through a day or so.  This has caused me to edit this blog a few times (which I prefer not to do).  So in other words, I thought I was mistaken but I was wrong!  :)

No, I dont think it was a forecast map that I had seen and I dont think that map I saw the news yesterday or so was correct either.  Because a high pressure system is again to move back to the west from west Texas area - according to the weather map I just saw a few minutes ago on KTLA Ch.5.

Strife in the Middle

July 15th, 2015

When I checked last night, it still seemed it was all about the middle - maybe.  Overall during the last several days/weeks, signals had been fine, then not a day or so ago, then strong again, then not again.  At last check SD loud and clear in the low but with SB being heard in middle.  Again, the scenario last night was that SD could be heard clearly down low but so could SB be heard at the very same time across the middle at the less than optimal spot.  Such a situation as this is not all so common, historically.   A controlling low seems pronounced offshore and to the north and a high inland but a Pacific hurricane (low) to the south in Mexico is moving to the north.  So, some interesting weather seems soon to arrive.  It also will be interesting to see how the signals play out when and if it does arrive.

Is It Still About the Middle?

June 3rd, 2015

Sometimes similar to the blog entry before last, its still all about the middle (as of yesterday evening - a handful of hours ago).  However, a few moments later after being still about the middle, it seems as though it could also/instead all be about the bass (as in basement) - at the less than optimal listening spot.

Tornado Helps to Avoid Death Penalty?

June 3rd, 2015

A couple of days ago I heard the reported news story of a tornado in Mainland/Communist China.  The Chinese tornado was said to have capsized a ferry boat/cruise ship on the Yangtze River as well.  Not that I’m all too sure of the likelihood of a tornado capsizing a ferry boat/cruise ship in China, …because it sounds more likely that the captain of that boat may have fabricated that story to avoid the death penalty for ‘causing’ passengers to die resulting from some accident while he was in charge, but…  (Not that I care to get overly political in this TornodoTamer blog , but see:       http://adamvernontrotter.blogspot.com/search/label/China   .)

But still I have to wonder, what would the U.S. tornado research entities have to say about it all?  Would they blame that tornado in China on the Gulf of Mexico as upon which those U.S. tornado researchers historically seem to blame all of the tornados in the United States?

But maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on those fascists in control over in Communist/Mainland China.  Because in the end, China would probably have more foresight and out-of-the-box thinking than the average paradigm-laden tornado researchers in the United States or even any U.S. government types who dole-out the grant money to fund those paradigm-laden U.S. tornado research efforts.  And, those Communist Chinese might therefore be more likely to fund alternative tornado ideas like mine.   Just saying…

Anyway, my condolences to the families of the dead and may any innocent victims rest in peace.
