Thousands of Birds Fall Dead From Arkansas Sky, Massive Fish Kill in Arkansas River, Lethal and Unusual Off-Season Tornadoes in the Same Region.

January 2nd, 2011; Sunday.

This past Thursday a reported massive fish kill was discovered in the Arkansas River – with an estimated 100,000 drum fish dead. The next night (Friday, New Year's Eve) a reported 1000 to 5000 red-winged black birds fell dead from the sky. No one knows the reason for either massive animal death toll or if the two events are related.

In between the massive animal-death related events, on Friday morning Arkansas also unfortunately experienced several deadly tornadoes - as did other areas and states in the path of the widespread and potentially tornadic storms. The resulting tornadic storms were quite widespread and particularly unusual and "rare" as they were considered to be "off-season" tornadic storms. (BTW, for whatever such might be worth, I am on the east coast and unable to monitor my tornado research/prediction ideas – due to no funds nor properly located equipment.) No one knows if the tornadoes are related to the animal deaths either. (However, not to appear as self-serving, but such animal-death related events could fit my potential tornado formation model, please forgive me as I believe such is also worth mentioning.) Regardless, I hereby wish to forward my sincere condolences to the victims and their families.

We can only wonder what is happening with any of these events or if we will ever know the truth of these matters. No officials have even surmised that the tornadoes could be related to the animal deaths, from the sources that I have read to this point in time. In reality, of course, I can barely begin to hypothesize any definite answer as to the timing of these events either.

However, as much as I hate to even insinuate such, if our government officials knew what was happening with these animal-death related events or if there was - in fact - any correlation between the events other than being a possible result/precursor of the tornadoes, could we trust them tell us? Then again, maybe the answer is not available to, nor will it come from any bureaucrat.

This evening, Philadelphia's WCAU Channel 10 News at 11 reported and quoted Arkansas Fish & Game/Wildlife Officials as saying that the massive animal-death related events are probably unrelated. I would respond that they are most likely related but in a manner that these officials either don't understand or don't want us/the public to know. What say you, blog reader/America?
